Chen Tao is a blend of elements from
Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, science fiction, and Taiwanese folk religion.
Chen and his followers believe in reincarnation,
karma and vegetarianism.
According to Chen there are three souls:
 |
the physical
soul, |
 |
the main spiritual
light, and |
 |
the conscious
soul. |
They believe that the earth has already
suffered four great tribulations in the form of cataclysmic nuclear holocausts.
Devils are responsible for all the
evil in the world and they seek to possess transmigrated beings.
The "King Satans" or "heavenly devil kings" are responsible for the great
tribulations of the past.
Chen also believes that God does not
judge people, but is merciful, loving and kind.
